The foundation stone of DS Education Group was laid back to November 2008, when the first Dorothy Snot preschool & kindergarten was founded in Athens. Initially, the school opened in 175a Ippokratous street old mansion, bearing just 9 students!

Today, June 2026, the group operates two preschools & kindergartens in the greater Athens area: Dorothy Snot Athens in Kypseli & Dorothy Snot South in Nea Smyrni, hosting nearly 500 students (ages 0-6) and employing more than 120 teachers & administration staff.

Since 2013 we have been developing our very own educational philosophy called Life-derived Learning (LDL), a play-inspired approach aiming to connect education to real life experience through Respect, Trust, Responsibility & Freedom. LDL has affected a number of play-based early education setups worldwide and its influence is continuously expanding.

In addition to the above, our first Kosmos Elementary School is on the way! It was announced in July 2026 & open its gates in September 2027, bearing eventually a total of 400 students (ages 7-12).

In 2021, the shareholders of DS Education Group co-founded The Why Community, a hybrid structured dialogue and critical thinking ecosystem for children aged 4-12, designed for classrooms, learning centres, families, and communities worldwide.

Last but not not least, in 2025 the shareholders of DS Education Group along with 18 more school families’ co-founded Dorotheans for Change, an NGO aiming to positively affect the bottom line of Greek education.

All-in-all, the DS Education Group aims to provide top-class, play-inspired education to children between 0-12 y.o. by connecting learning to real world problems & situations and positively affect parenting and pedagogy standards. 

Currently, the annual turnover of DS Group is 3.6 million euros and is expected to exceed 7 million euros by the end of 2029.
